The Word of God instructs us to care for the poor and needy and to make disciples to all the ends of the earth. We believe God calls and equips us to do this both corporately and individually.
Helping Those In Need
In Matthew 25:40 (NIV), Jesus said, "... whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Along the same lines, James 1:27 (NIV) says we are "to look after orphans and widows in their distress."
Corporately
Currently, Hosanna Christian Church partners with:
- Northern Churches Care—a nonprofit dedicated to showing the love of Christ by providing financial and spiritual support for low-income and calamity-stricken individuals and families in the Colorado Springs area.
Individually
Families and individuals at Hosanna also support several other ministries including, but not limited to, the following:
- Compassion International—an organization dedicated to rescuing the poorest children in the world from spiritual and physical poverty and helping them become faithful, responsible Christian adults.
- Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child—giving Christmas gifts to needy children around the world as a tangible demonstration of God's love toward them.
- Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program—an outreach program delivering Christmas gifts to children and elderly people in need.
Making Disciples
Each of us has a role to play in drawing unbelievers to Christ. Currently, we primarily engage in outreach through relationships church members forge in their own communities—whether at work, in the neighborhood, during school, or in recreation.
We are prayerfully developing ideas and plans for corporate outreach to our community.
